Member Spotlight: Ann Arbor Hub

Stories
3 mins.

Welcome to our Member Spotlight Series, where we proudly showcase the businesses and individuals making a difference in our Strive community and beyond. Today, we have the pleasure of highlighting Tanya Hill with Ann Arbor Hub, a local community resource helping buyers, sellers, and fellow agents make confident moves across Washtenaw County. They specialize in customized home search support, strategic seller marketing, and city-specific real estate branding. Join us as we learn more about how Tanya became involved with the project and what she finds most rewarding about her work!

Tell us a little about Ann Arbor Hub:
Ann Arbor Hub is more than a community resource brand—it’s a place-based real estate movement. We bring the hometown feel into every transaction by highlighting local neighborhoods, schools, parks, and small businesses that make Ann Arbor (and its surrounding communities) feel like home.

What led you to start it?
After years in real estate, I wanted to create something more intentional, something that didn’t just help people buy or sell homes, but actually helped them plug into the community. I also saw a need for realtors to feel supported while building their own brand, so Ann Arbor Hub became a space to do both.

What sets your business apart?
We blend high-tech marketing systems with heart-led local service. Every buyer and seller gets a step-by-step digital experience that includes video education, automated support, and real-time agent access. But more than that, we live here, we work here, and we care about this community. We host events, volunteer, and celebrate the people of Ann Arbor like neighbors, not leads.

What’s something you wish you knew when you were starting out?
That you don’t need to be everything to everyone. The more you lean into your specific style, area, and niche, the more trust you build and the easier it is to grow your business with purpose.

How do you navigate work-life balance?
By building systems that support clients while also giving me time back. I use automation tools, trusted team members, and strong client communication up front so I’m not tied to my phone 24/7. And honestly? I’ve learned to block time for family, fun, and rest—because burnout isn’t the badge of honor it used to be.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping someone feel seen and supported during one of the biggest decisions of their life. Whether it’s a first-time buyer, a relocating doctor, or an agent finding their voice—it’s the transformation I get to witness that keeps me going.

How has being part of the Strive community impacted you and your business?
Strive has created the perfect blend of professionalism and warmth. The energy here fuels collaboration, productivity, and connection. It’s helped me grow my business and my circle of fellow go-getters.

Any improvements we could make to support you better?
Honestly, just keep doing what you’re doing! Maybe more hosted networking lunches or curated connection events especially between Strive members across industries.

Where would you take a friend visiting town for a bite or an Ann Arbor experience?
I’d start with brunch at Zingerman’s Roadhouse, then walk through Kerrytown and the Farmer’s Market, grab coffee at RoosRoast, swing by the Law Quad for that U-M magic, and catch a show at The Ark. If they’re lucky enough to visit on a game weekend… you already know.

We would like to thank Tanya for her willingness to participate in our spotlight series and to share her journey with us. If you are interested in spotlighting your business with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your community manager. We are always eager to help elevate your business in any way we can!
