Member Spotlight: Robert Alvarez Law

Tell us a little about Robert Alvarez Law.

Robert Alvarez Law was founded in late 2018 as a side project while I was working full-time at another law firm. After consideration for appointment for a county judge vacancy and a brief election run for a state judge position, the law firm was rebranded, and all efforts were put into Robert Alvarez Law to grow and expand in March 2022.

What led you to start your own law firm?

The drive to provide quality and personalized representation to car wreck victims, especially the Spanish-speaking community, which is underserved and mistreated by the larger non-Spanish speaking law firms that advertise to them.

What sets your business apart from your competitors?

Our clients have the ability to text our office directly. They are well informed of the process of their claim or lawsuit, and actually get to speak with the attorney directly.

What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business?

Finding good help is important, and trying to do everything on your own is tiresome. I learned to be willing to allow others to help me reach my goals rather than doing it alone.

How do you navigate your work-life balance?

Staying on top of your cases and not overcommitting yourself by accepting each case will give you the time to have some work-life balance. Many law firms are behind and running around to catch up, but if you stay consistent, disciplined, and diligent, a work-life balance is possible.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping my clients through a tough time in their lives, helping them to heal, and working to compensate them for difficult times they went through that they did not ask for.

How has being a part of the Flex at The Gild community affected you and your business?

Flex at The Gild is a great community of like-minded professionals, and is a very pleasant experience to be surrounded by other like-minded professionals such as insurance agents, banks, other lawyers, etc. Additionally, the staff are very helpful in furthering that professional work culture!

If you had a friend in town and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them?

Some of my favorite spots around town are the Bishop Arts District and the Dallas Farmer’s Market for great food, walking, supporting local businesses, and shopping with friends or family.
