Welcome to our Member Spotlight Series, where we proudly showcase the businesses and individuals making a difference in our Strive community and beyond. Today we have the pleasure of highlighting Jacey Jetton, Founder and CEO of Jetton Solutions, a business development advisory firm operating out of Flex at the Gild. Join us as we learn more about why Jacey started his business, what he finds most rewarding about his work, and what he’s learned along the way!
Tell us a little about Jetton Solutions?
We’re an advisory firm that helps companies decide where to locate, get the incentives available to them, and build the government and business relationships they need once they arrive. Much of our work is with manufacturers from Korea and Taiwan.
What led you to starting Jetton Solutions?
While serving in the Texas House, I met a lot of companies that wanted to invest in Texas but didn’t know how to work with state and local government. I started the firm to help them do that. I’m also half Korean and studied business in Korea. International business has always been a passion.
What sets your business apart from your competitors?
I’ve worked on the government side. I served two terms in the Texas House and sit on the Governor-appointed Texas International Business Advisory Committee, so we know how incentive decisions get made. Our partners on the ground in Asia let us work with a company from its first conversation overseas through opening day in Texas.
What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business?
Nobody can replace you in the first couple of years. Consistency matters. You throw a lot of things at the wall to get enough to stick to be profitable.
How do you navigate your work-life balance?
I put my family on the calendar the same way I put clients on it. My wife Fanny and I have two sons, and a weekend at Lake Travis or our Thanksgiving 5K gets the same priority as a meeting. Wherever I am, I try to be fully present. Quality over quantity.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Winning for our clients who invest in our communities and create jobs for our neighbors.
How has being a part of the Flex at the Gild community affected you and your business?
Having a place to work and meet clients in Dallas is a huge advancement for us.
Any improvements we could do to help you or your business?
Nothing yet.
If you had a friend in town and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them?
For Korean barbecue, then Texas brisket the next day. Our family meals mix both, so that’s how I’d show someone around.
We would like to thank Jacey for his willingness to participate in our Member Spotlight Series. If you are interested in spotlighting your business with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your community manager; we’re eager to help elevate your business in any way we can!
