Member Spotlight: Birdhill Studios

Welcome to our Member Spotlight Series, where we proudly showcase the businesses and individuals making a difference in our Strive community and beyond! Today we have the pleasure of highlighting Birdhill Studios, a creative services firm offering photography and stop motion videos for consumer-packaged brands, operating out of Strive Denver. Join us to learn what inspired the team to start their business, how they provide the best service to their clients, and how their business is evolving with each day!

Tell us a little about Birdhill Studio.

We create photos and stop motion videos for consumer-packaged goods brands through a monthly model; each month, clients send their products to our studio and we create marketing collateral for their website, paid and social media accounts.

What led you to start Birdhill Studio?

I wanted to start a creative services business after college that could be productized. I freelanced in college building websites, running social media accounts, and taking photos. I saw the biggest opportunity from an enjoyment and financial standpoint in content for ecommerce and product-based companies, so I started Birdhill!

What sets your business apart from your competitors?

Since we have one offering, we’re focused on making it special from a process, deliverable, and impact standpoint. We continue to improve our work rather than expand our service offerings. We’ve worked with hundreds of CPG brands — from startup to public companies — and are focused on providing ongoing value to our clients.

What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business?

Nothing jumps to mind, but I am I’m humbled by all the times I’ve struggled in the past and then learned through trial/error. They all feel worth it and I can’t regret not having knowledge.

How do you navigate your work-life balance?

I remind myself how fortunate I am to run a business —  this is a privilege and choice rather than an obligation. It does feel like work, but it feels so worth it. I work out in the morning, make time for friends and loved ones after work, volunteer at a youth center once a week, play on a IM soccer team, and keep love at the forefront of everything I do.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Having an idea and seeing it come to life with team members that I admire. We’re always coming up with new ideas — big and small — and it’s rewarding to execute a vision.

How has being a part of the community affected you and your business?

We have been in this office building for three years and appreciate the inclusive amount of services/amenities that Strive offers.

If you had a friend in town, and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them?

Uchi — I’m a huge fan of their flavor, creativity, and ambiance!

if you could have a conversation over coffee with yourself from 5 years ago, what would you say to them?

Trust the process — continue to find fulfillment in the work, relationships, and your gut.

We would like to thank the Birdhill Studios team for their willingness to participate in our spotlight series and teach us a bit about their business. If you are interested in spotlighting your business with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your community manager; we are always eager to help elevate your business in any way we can!
